Kaila is known for her professionalism, compassion, and approachable demeanor when working with clients. She understands that family law matters can be deeply emotional and is committed to providing her clients with both strong advocacy and unwavering support throughout the process. Her passion for family law stems from her desire to connect with people and guide them through challenging times, ensuring they feel valued and understood every step of the way.
Since being called to the bar in 2019, Kaila has exclusively practiced family law. She represents clients in litigation and alternative dispute resolution, handling all aspects of family law, including parenting arrangements, child and spousal support, property division, and domestic contracts. She also has experience assisting clients affected by family violence and understands the unique sensitivities involved in these cases.
Kaila earned her law degree from Western University, where she was actively involved in access-to-justice initiatives. As a volunteer with Pro Bono Students Canada (Family Law Project), she helped disadvantaged clients navigate the family court process and prepare legal documentation. Furthermore, working at a family law firm during law school gave her firsthand insight into the impact of legal advocacy, reinforcing her dedication to the field and deepening her understanding of the complexities families face.
In 2025, Kaila expanded her role in the legal community by joining Fanshawe College as an Adjunct Professor in the Family Legal Services Provider program. In this role, she uses her expertise to teach licensed paralegals the fundamentals of family law, furthering her commitment to access to justice. Through education and advocacy, Kaila continues to promote greater accessibility and support for those facing family law challenges.
Outside of her legal practice, Kaila enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new restaurants, and traveling. She has a passion for exploring different cuisines and cultures, whether discovering a hidden gem in her city or embarking on her next adventure. For her, food and travel are not just pastimes but ways to connect with people, culture, and new experiences.
